Resiste`

Once there was a girl, along with some thirty or forty ladies who were told to recant their faith. They said no, and were put in a high tower for thirty-five years. All they had to was recant their faith, and they would be let out. But they never did, they died there, but everyday they were there they carved the word "Resiste`" into the wall. Resiste`: "to resist."

~We all have our sins that tempt us. And they might tempt us forever, but all we've got to do is resiste.` So when you're tempted to sin, just say the word resiste.` And do it.

~Sometimes we'll say "Oh, I'll sin just once, then I'll be satisfied." Have you ever said that? Well, don't, because when you feed your flesh all it does is make it want more. The sinful flesh is never satisfied.

So my challenge for you today is to "Resiste`."

All Christ,
~Kade

I think it's James 4:7 or 8 that says Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Thanks for the post.

Hey Kole, a while ago you asked us if anyone was familiar with Phil Wickham, well I just heard him for the first time a few weeks ago. He's pretty good.

Very powerful story. I really needed to hear that.

James 4:7-8 - Resisting the devil is all about drawing near to God.

Only by grace,

Thanks for the post. Whether we realize it or not, even major things like not recanting to recieve freedom happen every day. Something very similar to the situation of the people in the story, began only a couple of years ago in Eritrea. We must always remember to stand firm and we shall be rewarded.

Thank you for this... I want to confess, I'm struggling with relatively strong temptation of a particular sin the past few days. I pray to be strong like the lady and "resiste".

Praise God for the encouragement that you guys are! wow, four men together for Christ - I am inspired.

Keep up the great work, guys! Through Christ, you will do much more for his glory than you anticipated. :)
