Two Q's

Ok guys, I've been reading "Don't Waste your Life" And I've got a few questions to ask yourself to see if you are/are not wasting your life:

"You don't have to have good looks or riches or come from a good family or a good school... instead you have to know one great all-embracing thing... and be set on fire by it." -John Piper
Q: Do you know one all-embracing thing, and are set on fire by it?

"We waste our lives when we don't pray, think, dream, plan, and work toward magnifying God in all spheres of life" -John Piper
Q: What are you doing to magnify God?

All Christ,
~Kade

I actually just finished "Don't Waste Your Life"... it was one of the most amazing books I have ever read. Really heart searching content and passionate truth.

To briefly answer your questions:
1. My all consuming and enflamed passion is Christ and making Him known through the gospel.
2. This is kinda hard to nail down, but I strive to magnify God in my blog, my attitude, my purposes in life, my relationships with my family and friends, etc.

Thanks for the questions, Kade!

I'm trying to serve God personally-behavior, attitude, etc,-and publicly-blogging, anything people can see of me.

Hey
I'm sorry this is completely off the point, but how do you make the recent comments widget look like yours with the person's name, the post and "more" as the link? Look at mine(if you need to). How do I change it?

I must say that I'm not embracing Jesus as much as I should nor do I have the fire I should. Thanks for the post.

im reading it too. im been having a hard time concentrating on it for some reason, which for me means somethings wrong. I knew it was my flesh warring against my spirit. I have been reading it now and cant get out of it. Thanks for posting Kade.

Hey Kole
I made an "Email Me" link on my blog, so you can email the code to me now.

Kole, do you mean God's will or God's will for my life? I don't think I can define either. God's will is just God's will, his plan, desire...I don't know. How would you define God's will?

I believe that the one thing that should set all true Christians on fire is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How are we to magnify God and show our zeal for the gospel? By spreading his word to others without fear. Thanks for the post.

God's will, I think is split into three categorizes: His sovereign will, His moral will, and His individual will. One of these is not correct, or is misinterpreted very often. I'm am currently reading a book about God's wills and I will try and refute the incorrect will for you.

By God's grace, I had the opportunity to get my hand on a copy of this a few months ago. It was a phenomenal book. And again, by God's grace, I've given it to a good friend during New Attitude, so that she may find fresh vision for glorifying God.

A to Q1: One all-embracing thing I know is the fact of the grave sinner that I am. The depravity of man. I am nothing on my own! Yet, this God who created me has took all that is mine[which is sin and only sin] and crushed it on the cross. Now, through His grace, in me lies a humble passion for Him, that I may boast in the cross ALONE.

A to Q2: What can I do to magnify God so that I can show the world exactly the way He is? Nothing. For even dying for Him will never show God in all his glory and might - I am that sinful and He is that perfect. But to magnify him in the little, meager, inadequate, feeble way I can - in all that I do, by boasting in the cross(Galatians 6:14). Hence, there's my lame excuse of a blog - Passion 614. But Praise God, the lameness of my blog is not a reason for me to worry, for God's mercy is on me. And no matter how weak my attempts may be, God is magnified in me, as I fight to be most satisfied in Him alone.

Thank you for exposing these questions, dear brothers. I need confrontations like these, to evaluate where I stand spiritually. Thank you for Proverbs 27:5ing me here.

God bless you all! Keep fighting!
