Rights of the Child vs. Parental Rights

The Rights of the Child Amendment is a UN bill that they are trying to pass in the United States.

Here's 10 things that it would mean for parents:

1. Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.
2. A murderer aged 17 years and 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.
3. Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.
4. The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent’s decision.
5. A child’s “right to be heard” would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.
6. According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children’s welfare.
7. Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.
8. Christian schools that refuse to teach "alternative worldviews" and teach that Christianity is the only true religion "fly in the face of article 29" of the treaty.
9. Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.
10. Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

Listen to that! Isn't that rotten! It's pretty much children being treated as adults! And the parents have no control over their own children!

Another issue that no one knows about:
This amendment also mentions a gun ban. In the bill it says that, "...children have the right to be raised in a gun-free environment..." That's the worst! Their going to sneak that lil' sweet-heart inta there!

The good news:
I found this sight, and they're proposing the 'Parental Rights Amendment'! They are "protecting children by empowering parents"! Isn't that Awesome!

GO HERE TO CHECK THEM OUT AND PUSH THIS AMENDMENT FORWARD!!!!

p.s. I put a new song on the side-bar.

p.p.s. Fight for your freedom! Now!

I totally undersatnd how you feel.
This garbage is driving me crazy. It is so scary to think about what this world is coming to, even when you know God is in control.

I agree 1 million%. This is crazy! Children are given parents for a reason. If we were suppose to be treated as adults, then we should have been born as adults. (Last I knew, God NEVER makes mistakes. He has us to be born as babies, and grow into children. By the time we reach adulthood, we should have been trained to act as adults.) Like I said before, this is crazy!

This sounds like something the UN would come up with. Instead of ensuring that a child grows up and matures, this policy actually impedes it, resulting in a society where adults are in reality just big kids, people 40 years old acting like overgrown 4 year-olds. And about guns, which along with knives have been banned in London, my belief is that the problem is not with the gun or the kife, it is with the person holding the gun or the kife. The problem of gun and knife-crime cannot be solved by taking these things away. Only a work of the Holy Spirit can do such a thing.

Thanks for these posts. I trust they will make people angry enough to take action.

In Christ,
Ryan

It's already been passed when Clinton was in office. They just never ratified it. Now some woman who has the right wants it to be ratified.

By the way the 3,000+ abortions a day in the US is less than 3% of the worlds total abortions. :(

Wow!! They seriously cannot expect a peaceful America if they do that; if they don't want hundreds of out-of-control kids, like Erin said, then they shouldn't have written this amendment.
