Working hard to the Glory of God

Well guys, I've/we've been working really hard lately. Kole and I are trying to make money to go to an inner city ministry in Tulsa. And I've been thinking, how do we work hard to the glory of God? So I got a few points:

(1).Have a good attitude when you work, serve joyfully. (I really struggle with that). God even gave the Israelites over to their enemies, because they did not obey joyfully. "Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things;
therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the LORD will send against you..."
(2). Be grateful.
(3). If you do get paid for the job, use the money in a way that would bring God glory.

These are just three things, and there are many more. So what other things can we do to work to the glory of God?

All Christ,
~Kade

Another way is making sure what you're doing is what He wants you doing, when He wants you doing it. "The need is not the call". Had (sometimes still have) a hard time learning that.

In Malachi 1:6-14,we are given three steps in how to glorify God.
1. Honour God,2. Fear God, 3. Contend for God. Hope you are able to go to this ministry and thanks for the post.

I like this verse, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

I think that goes along with what you are saying.
Great thoughts, Kade. I needed to hear this today. :)

Babysitting. Children seem to be my teenage calling. It's not always easy but I know I wouldn't be the same person without it.

Matthew 5:41 says, "And if anyone forces you to go one mile, with him go with him two miles." So we should serve to our fullest potential and strive to our best.

Yeah, that can be hard to serve the Lord with gladness, but we need to remember that we are being blessed for our services.

Good question.

Work to please the Lord, not yourself or your boss (because you will do better if it is for Christ). Do everything without complaining (inexpressibly important). Often people in secular jobs try to flatter their co-workers in order to get status, don't do that. Be honest, polite, respectful, and prayerful. Most of all, quit trusting in yourself that you can do something good. Jesus said, "Without me you can do nothing." Christ is all.

Looking unto Jesus,
Penn

Hey Josh, good to hear from you. I wanted to get in contact with you but I've been kind of busy. I heard about your band though. I am not on the Rebelution forms, and I would like to but I don't how, and what I would do on there. What do you do if your on the form? I'm glad you found us.

Scripture says to keep your works hidden from others so you won't get praise.
Maybe next time!
