God with Us

Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Deuteronomy 31:8 "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

Yesterday, at our youth-group we went through 1Samuel 23. It was about David running from Saul. And God always provided a way for David to escape. God was with him.

Today, in my school book Light and the Glory it told the story of how Washington escaped Howe's army of twenty thousand during the night by small boats, when they surely would have been wiped out. God was with them.

God promises to be with those who are his... so even though we may not see Him, feel Him, or hear Him.. He is there. And when we go through trials we might think; where is God? Well for one, God gave us that trial, two, He's in control, three, he might have giving us that trial to make us come running back to Him, four, He promised He will never leave us. And God doesn't lie, bub.

All Christ,

So true! And if God is for us, then who can be against us??

Just what I needed to hear right about now. The hardest thing for me is when I can't feel God or when it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall when I pray.

Who added me to your list of favourite blogs?

We did.

Well, I figured that much but which one of you four was responsible? (I may not be very smart, but I can figure so much out).

It was me.

The words at John Knox's funeral went something like this: "Here lies one who never feared the face of man." You are very true in saying that it is God who gives us trials (1 Peter 1:6-7). There is no need to fear, for in suffering for the sake of righteousness, we are blessed (1 Peter 3:13-14).

Thought so. Thanks.

This is very encouraging. I am going to pass these verses to my sister... she is graduating tomorrow and really nervous. :)

Thanks for the encouragement!

Catechism

And, in testimony of our desire, and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen.
